Garden Volunteers at Mesa Urban Farm
The 3,000 square-foot Mesa Urban Farm provides about 500lbs of fresh produce monthly for St. Vincent de Paul's Mesa Dining Room. Spend your morning fertilizing soil, composting, planting, harvesting, and observing the produce that helps feed the local community. Please note, the dining room is adjacent to the farm. Clients who enjoy St. Vincent's daily meal services are likely to be present on site, many of whom are unsheltered.
Please wear Closed-toe shoes, and clothes that can get dirty. Bring SPF and a reusable water bottle. There are shade structures, but be prepared to be in the sun. An air-conditioned area is available if you need to cool off!
Please Note: Volunteers serving court-ordered or any kind of required volunteer hours must register directly through St. Vincent de Paul and attend a virtual orientation before being scheduled to volunteer.
The minimum age for this volunteer opportunity is 8 with a parent or guardian. All Volunteers under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. Volunteers ages 16 and 17 who aren't attending a project with a parent/guardian MUST bring a Youth Waiver signed by a parent or guardian, to each project.
If you would like to register your child, please email the opportunity coordinator listed below and ask to reserve a guest slot.
