The City of Phoenix offers a variety of boards and commissions that allow city residents to become a dynamic and committed partner in improving the city and other residents' living experiences. Examples of boards and commissions include:

REQUIREMENTS

Please note that not all Boards and Commissions have vacant seats. Meeting frequency and time commitments vary for each Board. Members are appointed by the Mayor and City Council members. If you are interested in multiple boards and commissions list your first four choices on the application. Every effort will be made to accommodate your first preference, but vacancies vary, and demand for some boards may be higher than that for others. As vacancies occur, appointments are made by the Mayor and approved by the City Council.

Some boards require residency within the city of Phoenix. Members may not serve more than two full, consecutive terms and are expected to attend all regularly scheduled and special meetings. Please contact the appropriate department for meeting schedules and locations.
