Garden Days at GROWHOUSE
"Come in, grow out" in the GROWHOUSE - Roosevelt Grow Collective Garden is a volunteer driven community garden and creative space located in the Roosevelt Row arts district. We are seeking volunteers to help with garden projects such as preparing garden beds, planting, weeding, building garden structures, irrigation and watering, and various art projects and other garden beautification projects. Living on what was formerly a blighted, vacant property downtown, the now thriving garden sells veggies every week at the Community Exchange Table at the Downtown Phoenix Public Market and to nearby cafes. It is now part of Roosevelt Row CDC's A.R.T.S. (Adaptive Reuse of Temporary Space) Program to activate vacant lots downtown.
The minimum age is 18 or 8 with a parent or guardian.
All volunteers should read, print and sign our NEW COVID-19 VOLUNTEER PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT and review our new Safety Guidelines for Volunteering in Person prior to signing up and attending this project.
Please note that volunteering at projects other than Phoenix Municipal Stadium does not make you eligible to receive a vaccine.
By signing up for volunteer opportunities and not attending, you may be depriving someone else the chance to participate and the volunteer opportunity of much-needed support. Please note that in an effort to accommodate volunteers who sign up for opportunities by choice, HandsOn does NOT accept court ordered volunteers and will NOT sign off on any court-related documents.
New system update as of 3/1/2021. Volunteer shifts will only appear if there are volunteer spots available. If you do not see any shifts to sign up for that means all spots are currently full. |
