Agency: Bridging AZ Furniture Bank
Description:
Bridging AZ Furniture Bank provided basic furniture and household items to more than 5,000 families in 2009! If you want to assist them in helping more families, then lend your helping hands at their Hope Chest!
The Hope Chest is a resource for case managers from local social service organizations to get basic household items for the families they help.
If you like sorting and organizing donations and can control a crowd, then you will be a great fit for this project!
On the first Thursday of each month, volunteers will be sorting and organizing donations.
On the first Friday of each month, volunteers will assist caregivers in obtaining their items, counting items and cleaning up.
Volunteers should wear comfortable clothing and closed toe shoes. Parking is available in the north lot of the building. Volunteers should come ready to work. Please keep in mind that the building is not heated or air conditioned, so please dress accordingly.
The minimum age to volunteer with a parent is 12 years old. Volunteers who are 16 or 17 years old may volunteer without a parent or guardian, but must bring a signed Youth Volunteer Waiver.
By signing up for projects and not attedning, you may be depriving someone else of the opportunity to participate and the project of much-needed support. Please note that in an effort to accommodate volunteers who sign up for projects by choice, HandsOn does not accept court ordered volunteers and will not sign off on any court-related documents.
