Description:
The city of Phoenix is seeking volunteers for a new pilot project. Through partnerships with the community, free tax preparation services are provided to low-income households. During the 2008-09 campaign, more than 5,000 households received $7.39 million in tax refunds. All services are provided free of charge. As a volunteer, you will assist low-income residents one-on-one, by informing them about various financial resources available in the community. You will do this while they wait to get their taxes prepared. Many great financial resources go unused due to lack of information. You will assist low-income residents get access to the help they need! Full training will be provided in January. Volunteers will work on Saturdays at a central Phoenix location. Services will be needed from Jan 30 to April 10. You can volunteer one day per month or every weekend. You make the schedule.
