Description:
This workshop is for volunteers participating in the HandsOn Skills program.
This workshop will help volunteers explore their personal motivations for volunteering, learn more about the nonprofit sector and more about how the HandsOn Skills program works.
Please download the HandsOn Skills application and submit it to mallory@handsonphoenix.org prior to attending this workshop.
HandsOn Skills projects are custom volunteer opportunities that bring nonprofits in need together with volunteers who want to use their workplace skills to serve their communities.
HandsOn Skills projects vary in scope and length of commitment and engage. Projects may entail a one-time or short-term commitment and may include tasks such as plumbing or electrical installation, teaching a cooking class or designing a mural. Longer-term projects might involve developing a marketing strategy, a training program or website design.
We are currently seeking volunteers with expertise in the following areas:
* Computer/Information Technology
* Marketing, Communications & Public Relations
* Training Design & Facilitation
* Building Trades/Home Improvement
* Other: Cooking/Meal Planning, Fitness Instruction, Foreign Language, etc.
This project is approved for volunteers with the following restrictions: Allow Pending Members
