Bookworm Buddies is a literacy program where volunteers dedicate a semester or more in the classroom as literacy tutors and mentors to 4^th grade students who are below the state standard for their grade level in writing, reading or mathematics. 

Volunteers:
• work with teachers in the classroom for a minimum of semester (entire school year encouraged), one or more hours a week in the Osborn School District
• receive training on mentoring and tutoring techniques, reading and math strategies, as well as information about working with diverse populations
• work closely with teachers to help students one-on-one and/or in small groups
• times varying based on volunteer and school schedules
